Sister Act

The sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte have vision and they have always been true to that vision, it’s culmination in their shows.  This time though their collection struck a more commercial chord, and I mean that in the best sense, while maintaining their originality and unique vision.  I believe it to be their strongest collection to date.  If you haven’t already, I urge you to view the entire show.

Here’s a taste.

Another sister act worth noting are Italian twins Barbara and Lucia Croce for Vionnet.  Their second collection for the venerable house focused on clean sportswear and dresses in a limited palette of neutrals shot with brights and enough draping to respect the origins of the house.  Their distinct point of view and the bright points of the collection, such as the draped leather dress and red silk gown, compel me to keep an eye on them.
